Description:

Hanover Communications, an award-winning communications consultancy, is seeking an Account Director to join its London-based sport team. This role will manage some of the agency’s largest sport brand accounts, including NFL, Wimbledon, London City Lionesses, Women’s Super League Football, and Six Nations, while contributing to the growth of Hanover Sport alongside senior leadership.

The Account Director will play a critical senior role in managing client relationships, leading teams, and ensuring effective delivery of campaigns. This position requires a strategic thinker who is also highly hands-on, combining creativity, insight, and executional excellence to deliver high-impact campaigns for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of client campaigns, exceeding expected outcomes

  • Act as day-to-day client contact, providing strategic advice and planning campaign activity

  • Build media strategies across youth, lifestyle, sport, and news media

  • Lead on crisis communications and provide high-level strategic counsel

  • Oversee media operations for global events, including accreditation, hosting, and press conferences

  • Implement effective monitoring programs for clients during major sporting events

New Business Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business growth

  • Lead new business responses from initial meetings to strategy, creative, and pitch presentations

  • Leverage network to generate leads and opportunities in the sport sector

Agency Responsibilities:

  • Embody agency values and foster a collaborative team environment

  • Mentor and develop team members with an open-door policy

  • Participate in cross-agency training and ideation sessions
