Account Manager

 

Description:

SMG is looking for a dynamic Account Manager to join their in-house agency team supporting Morrisons, one of the UK’s leading retailers. Based in Bradford (2 days/week), this hybrid role offers the chance to lead campaigns for top FMCG brands, directly influencing shopper behaviour through strategic media planning and execution.

In this high-impact position, you'll manage a client portfolio, craft and implement integrated media campaigns, oversee team performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet commercial goals. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering tangible results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management & Strategy:
    Lead development of media plans aligned with supplier budgets and strategic objectives to meet KPIs and brand goals.

  • Campaign Activation:
    Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to launch multi-channel branded activities, both online and in-store, adhering to creative standards and timelines.

  • Commercial & Forecasting:
    Track financial performance for category portfolios, support commercial target achievement, and manage budget forecasts.

  • Team Leadership:
    Line manage direct reports, including setting work plans, conducting appraisals, providing coaching, and monitoring day-to-day activities.

  • Content & Reporting:
    Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of media plans, performance reports, campaign evaluations, and stakeholder recommendations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams, confidently engaging with senior stakeholders and adapting communication styles accordingly.

  • Organizational Support:
    Contribute to broader SMG initiatives aimed at strengthening culture, governance, and internal systems. Participate in leadership meetings and support ad hoc company projects.


Candidate Profile:

  • 6–12 months of team management or coaching experience

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a record of achieving targets

  • Background in planning and delivering effective marketing or media campaigns

  • Ability to think creatively and challenge traditional processes

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Flexible, energetic, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Passion for building collaborative and high-performing teams
