Core3 | B Corp™, a trusted name in financial recruitment and consultancy, is proud to partner with a leading professional services firm in Central Bristol to hire an Assistant Tax and Partnership Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and technically strong accountant to gain broad exposure to partnership, corporate, and VAT accounting in a collaborative, high-performing finance team. Support partnership tax compliance, including reserves, computation analyses, capital allowances, and tax payment administration.
Prepare tax returns for review, including property income accounts and pension annual allowance calculations, and submit once approved.
Assist with corporation tax compliance — manage provisions for financial statements, payments on account, and returns for review.
Prepare tax treaty forms and assist with the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement.
Support partner distributions, quarterly dividend calculations, capital account movements, and partner communications.
Post journals for tax payments and provisions, ensuring ledger accuracy through regular account reconciliations.
Provide VAT support — conduct monthly checks, prepare quarterly returns, reconciliations, and process payments.
Contribute to payroll operations through monthly reviews, control account reconciliations, and variance analysis against budgets.
Maintain robust financial controls, ensure accurate documentation, and liaise effectively with auditors and external tax advisers.
This role provides comprehensive exposure to all areas of tax and partnership accounting, offering a valuable platform to deepen technical expertise in a respected and supportive business environment.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Working towards or completed CTA qualification preferred.
Strong experience in tax compliance across individuals, partnerships, and corporate entities.
Broad understanding of UK tax, including business, VAT, employment, and personal tax.
Proficient with tax and accounting software and standard MS Office tools (Excel, Word).
Solid grasp of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
Excellent double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Immediate or short notice availability is highly desirable.
£51,000 annual salary
12-month fixed-term contract with immediate start available
