Description:
Coopman Search are excited to be supporting an existing client in their search for a long term maternity cover for an Accounts Assistant.
This role will play a crucial role in the day to day running of the AP ledger and active supporting pf the fund finance function.
We are looking for somebody with experience working for a PE or investment firm with great attention to detail and who considers themselves a great team player.
Role Responsibilities
- Posting, coding and processing invoices (roughly 30 – 50 per month. Low volume, high value)
- Resolving any discrepancies in invoices
- Preparing and scheduling payments to vendors, contractors, and other service providers according to agreed-upon terms.
- Handling payments via cheque, BACS, or other methods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Managing regular payment runs and ensuring that the funds are correctly allocated to the relevant accounts.
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth processing of invoices and resolving any issues quickly.
- Addressing supplier queries related to unpaid invoices or payment issues, coordinating with the relevant internal departments to resolve any concerns.
- Regularly reconciling supplier accounts to ensure that all payments are correctly recorded and that there are no outstanding discrepancies.
- Bank Reconciliation
- Employee Expenses: Reviewing and processing employee expense reports and fund expenses inline with agreements.
- VAT Returns
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions for audit purposes.
- Assisting in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements by providing necessary AP data and reports.
- Responding to ad-hoc requests from senior finance or accounting staff related to accounts payable tasks.
- Providing support during internal and external audits by preparing required documents.
Experience Required
- Experience working within a fund / PE / investment firm
- Be collaborative with a keen eye for detail
- Comfortable in business facing duties – this is a small team so being confident in dealing with other finance team members as well as CEO, Partners and Investment teams
- Desire to become a fully qualified Accountant
