Description:
Alliance Healthcare, part of Cencora, is seeking a qualified and experienced Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join their Alcura Homecare Pharmacy team in Northampton. This role is central to ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate dispensing of medicines, supporting Alcura’s mission to provide patient-centred pharmaceutical and homecare services across Europe.
As an Accuracy Checking Technician, you will:
Perform all duties and responsibilities of an ACT within Alcura Pharmacy under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
Ensure strict compliance with legislation, professional standards, and company policies.
Coordinate workflow across the dispensary and prescription processing teams, focusing on Low/Mid Tech prescription processes.
Provide training and support to pharmacy team members, fostering continuous learning and professional development.
Handle prescription queries, liaising with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues to ensure timely and professional resolution.
Support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions to maintain patient safety.
Undertake dispensing duties when required while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and patient care.
Maintain GPHC registration and participate in CPD activities to stay updated on evolving therapeutic areas.
Assist in CAPA investigations, customer complaints, and incident management, supporting the pharmacy management team in delivering service, safety, and quality objectives.
Provide technical and drug-related information to team members, patients, and healthcare professionals as needed.
Support security measures for staff, premises, and stock in accordance with company protocols.
Skills & Requirements:
Qualified and GPHC-registered Pharmacy Technician with accuracy checking qualification.
Strong accuracy record and proven performance in pharmacy environments.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good computer literacy with the ability to manage pharmacy systems effectively.
Experience in multiple pharmacy settings (desirable).
Knowledge of Homecare Pharmacy operations (desirable).
Working Hours & Benefits:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
