Description:

S&P Global is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director – Mergers, Acquisitions & Investments to join its London-based corporate development team. Reporting to the Head of M&A and Strategic Investments, the selected candidate will support a global business with approximately $14 billion in annual revenue and over 42,000 employees worldwide. This is a pivotal role in shaping and executing S&P Global’s strategic M&A initiatives.

As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of the entire M&A lifecycle, from deal sourcing and evaluation through execution and integration. The role demands exceptional communication, strategic thinking, financial analysis, and cross-functional leadership skills to navigate complex transactions and drive value creation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a wide range of M&A transactions from ideation to completion.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units and functions.

  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams ensuring timely and favorable transaction outcomes.

  • Develop detailed financial and valuation models including synergy and dis-synergy analysis.

  • Conduct business analyses to support successful acquisitions and investments.

  • Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with subject matter experts across finance, legal, operations, and strategy teams.

  • Build industry relationships and contribute to deal sourcing efforts.

  • Present deal rationales and strategic insights through clear and compelling PowerPoint presentations.

  • Contribute to strategic pipeline management and opportunity assessments.

  • Promote best practices across divisions and enhance S&P Global’s M&A processes.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 5+ years of M&A experience, preferably in investment banking or top-tier strategy consulting.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • In-depth experience managing full M&A deal lifecycle.

  • Strong business acumen with a proven track record of driving financial analysis and valuation.

  • Adept at summarizing complex deal rationales for diverse audiences.

  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed organization with global reach.

  • Experience working in or with a publicly listed company is a plus.

  • Self-starter with high levels of motivation, curiosity, and resilience.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to build and present financial models and presentations effectively.


Location & Work Style:

  • Location: London, England (Hybrid model – 2–3 days/week onsite at S&P Global office)
