Administration Assistant

 

Description:

NHS Shetland is seeking an Administration Assistant to support the Psychological Therapies Team (PTS), which provides talking therapies for adults with a wide range of mental health problems across the Shetland Isles. The role ensures smooth operation of the service, coordinating administration tasks and managing patient appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and local coordination for Psychological Therapies Services.

  • Enter accurate information into patient administration systems (TrakCare and Carepartner).

  • Monitor clinic activity to balance supply and demand for patient appointments.

  • Maintain computerized waiting lists and ensure guarantees for patient care are met.

  • Work closely with clinicians, GPs, and hospital staff to support patient referrals and service delivery.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and IT skills.

  • Compliance with healthcare support worker induction standards and code of conduct within 3 months of starting.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Hours: 30 hours per week over 5 days.
