Description:

The Faculty of TDE is currently recruiting for a part time (0.8 FTE) Administration Manager based at Headington & Wheatley campus/Hybrid.

The Faculty is home to four Schools providing specialist and interdisciplinary teaching, research and knowledge transfer across a breadth of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes spanning a wide range of disciplines including but not limited to: architecture, arts, digital media, engineering and computing.

Construction work is also currently underway for two cutting-edge sustainable buildings on the Headington Hill site. The buildings will be the new home for the Faculty of Technology, Design & Environment’s activity currently based at Wheatley Campus and more information about the build progress can be found here.

As Administration Manager you will be leading a team of Administrators who provide comprehensive administrative support to the assigned programme portfolio. You will be managing their workload, allocating tasks, undertaking performance management and recruitment and selection of new staff as required. You will design, develop, implement, administer and monitor administrative systems to provide a high quality staff and student experience.

You will also take responsibility for faculty based elements of student recruitment and appropriate admissions procedures, student induction, quality assurance processes, the administration and servicing of relevant committees, and student examination and progression. You will liaise with external partners where appropriate for related activities. This is an interesting and varied position within professional services.

You should have:

  • Supervisory responsibility for staff
  • A Levels or significant relevant experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of HE systems and procedures for academic and student support; ability to work on own initiative
  • Team working experience; problem solving skills; excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • The ability to promote a service orientated approach within teams, in response to student and stakeholder needs
  • Ability to negotiate with, and influence academic and senior staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to business related and private/personal/sensitive information
