Description:
The University of Warwick’s School of Engineering is seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join the Staff Administration Team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key administrative processes and contribute to HR and recruitment support, alongside wider staff and academic administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for permanent and temporary staff, liaising with HR teams, hiring managers, and candidates.
Provide high-quality administrative support to senior colleagues including Research Cluster Leads and Directors of Teaching.
Service committees, take minutes, coordinate and attend meetings, and support academic events.
Deliver efficient HR and administrative services while ensuring compliance with policies and confidentiality requirements.
Contribute to the smooth running of the School of Engineering’s administrative functions, supporting collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Strong administrative experience, preferably in higher education or HR.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
Proactive problem-solving and initiative-taking abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing diverse administrative tasks.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) issues in recruitment and administration.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with diplomacy and tact.
Contract & Location Details:
Full-time, permanent role (36.5 hours/week).
Based in the School of Engineering, University of Warwick, Coventry.
Hybrid working, but first 3 months fully on-site; thereafter, expected to be on campus 80% of the time.
