Psicon Ltd, a specialist provider of neurodevelopmental healthcare services working closely with NHS trusts, is seeking Adult Psychiatrists to join its Independent Clinician Network. This role offers psychiatrists the opportunity to deliver high-quality autism assessments for adults (18+) while enjoying flexibility, autonomy, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using structured tools to evaluate patients for autism.

• Observe patients during sessions, ensuring compassionate and thorough questioning.

• Review reports, developmental history, and collateral information in the same session.

• Formulate diagnoses and deliver feedback to patients and families in a compassionate, age-appropriate manner.

• Provide recommendations and signposting to local and national support resources.

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) for complex cases and arrange follow-up sessions if needed.

• Produce high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours of assessment (with administrative support provided).

• Make onward referrals as clinically required in line with NHS Trust/ICB protocols.

Person Specification:

• GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.

• CCT in Adult Psychiatry (preferred, not essential).

• Expertise and confidence in adult autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments.

• Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal requirements.

• Professional, compassionate, and aligned with Psicon’s values.

• Committed to delivering clinical excellence with integrity.
