Sulzer Pumps UK a top employer based in Leeds and is at the forefront of driving the transformation towards Quality, we have an excellent opportunity within our Pump Parts & Retrofits division for a highly skilled Advanced Quality Engineer to be part of our team.

As our Advanced Quality Engineer, you will provide a high level of specialist support to the Engineering and Tendering Departments in pump equipment across the design, project management, and procurement departments to ensure all operational stages of each assigned project runs smoothly.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Review client specifications and ensure compliance of quality processes for Painting, Material Testing, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), European Directives, Hazardous Area Certification, Supplier Qualification
  • Assist with reviewing quality section of supplier’s quotations and support with supplier queries for assigned projects
  • Work closely with the Procurement and Tendering teams to ensure suitable vendors are selected for the assigned projects
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve Quality related technical issues
  • Regularly communicate with internal departments to ensure that projects risks are shared and identify potential schedule and cost impacts
  • Lead and drive risk review meetings to identify potential risk from a Quality perspective

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
  • HNC/Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good working knowledge of International and other industry standards i.e. ASTM, ASME, API etc
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplined engineering team is required
  • Technical experience in projects and/or complex engineering activities
  • Knowledge of package related products
  • Approval of technical documents
  • Leadership skills and Change management skills
  • Influencing and persuasion skills
  • Ability to travel both UK and abroad
  • Good teamwork ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
