Animator

Description:

We are looking for an ambitious animator with a deep understanding of content creation for social media.

The new animator will work closely with the Senior Creative and Head of Social Media and Digital Content to create content that sets the standard for the rest of Whitehall.

The right candidate will have a track record of delivering creative and impactful animated content for high-profile organisations or successful social media campaigns.

They will be able to expertly translate complex policy into engaging animated content that cuts through to the public. You will be the first port of call when it comes to the delivery of motion graphics, design solutions and art-work that tells our story.

Your primary focus will be on content creation across our social media channels, but you can also expect to provide wider design solutions to the department, for example, working with our agency partners on marketing campaigns.

This is a permanent, full time position.

Responsibilities

• First port of call for all the department’s animation needs, with a strong focus on social media output.
• Work closely with policy teams and the wider communications directorate to create engaging content around major policy announcements.
• Develop guidelines for animations so that our content has a coherent look and feel.
• Work closely with video team to consistently deliver engaging content on all communications channels.
• There will also be other design work to be done, particularly static graphic content.
• Produce clear evaluation on content performance and act on insights to improve engagement.
• Work closely with the wider media team to use social media channels to shape the news agenda.
