Antenna Engineer

Description:

Copello Global is seeking a Senior Antenna Design Engineer to join a highly innovative and defence-focused technology team based in High Wycombe, with work taking place primarily at their Marlow facility (4 days per week). This position is critical for supporting the design and development of advanced antenna systems used in aerospace environments, specifically for applications in Communication, Navigation, and Identification.

This role encompasses the full product development lifecycle, from bid support and requirements capture to system-level design, simulation, prototyping, verification, and post-deployment support. The ideal candidate must be a British Citizen due to the nature of the work and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop next-generation antennas and RF components for aerospace and defence applications.

• Perform electromagnetic simulations and analyses to optimize antenna configurations and ensure compliance with rigorous performance standards.

• Translate requirements into concept and system-level designs while ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Lead the technical effort through prototype development, testing, optimization, verification, and documentation phases.

• Remain up-to-date on cutting-edge antenna and RF technologies, incorporating relevant innovations into ongoing projects.

• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including development plans, verification reports, and technical specifications.

• Support automated test equipment (ATE) development and validation processes.

• Contribute to or lead proposal and bid activities by assessing requirements, preparing conceptual designs, and estimating tasks and timelines.

• Provide ongoing support for legacy product lines, ensuring continued performance and compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

• Extensive theoretical and hands-on experience in antenna and RF system design.

• Strong grasp of antenna theory, transmission line theory, microwave and RF principles.

• Proficiency in conducting full-wave electromagnetic simulations and using relevant RF design and analysis software.

• Experience with both active and passive RF/Microwave circuit design is desirable.

• Practical knowledge in the use of antenna test ranges and measurement techniques.

• Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Experience in managing and delivering technical projects within budget and time constraints.

Security Requirements:

• Must be a British Citizen – due to the sensitive nature of the defence-related projects.
