Description:
My client, a global pharmaceutical organisation currently has an urgent requirement for a talented Antibody and Engineering Scientist to join on an initial 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Antibody Discovery: Utilize a variety of methods (e.g., phage display, hybridoma technology, single-cell sequencing) to discover high-quality antibodies targeting a wide range of diseases, with a focus on cancer, autoimmune disorders, or other therapeutic areas.
- Antibody Engineering: Optimize antibodies for desirable properties such as improved affinity, stability, half-life, and specificity using rational design and library-based approaches.
- Assay Development: Design and execute assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR) to characterize antibody binding and functional activity. Apply various in vitro techniques to assess potency and mechanism of action.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including immunology, protein production, and pharmacology, to support the progression of lead antibodies into development.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret experimental data, present findings to project teams, and contribute to reports, publications, and patents.
Requirements:
- Proven track record (typically 3+ years) in antibody discovery and engineering in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Experience with techniques such as phage display, yeast display, or mammalian cell-based selection methods.
- Expertise in antibody humanization, affinity maturation, and optimization techniques.
- Strong knowledge of antibody characterization assays, including SPR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and other related methods.
