As an Application Support Analyst - Energy/Commodities, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support for front office and post-trade applications, including trade capture, market data, settlement, and clearing systems. You will also manage incidents, drive resolution, and collaborate closely with the infrastructure team, service desk, and wider IT group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support trading and back-office platforms for internal and external clients.
- Offer second and third-line support to business users.
- Create and deploy PowerShell scripts for business functions.
- Manage new system analysis and implementation.
- Provide incident management per ITIL standards.
- Communicate system changes between technology departments and business groups.
- Maintain high standards of process and trading system documentation.
- Manage vendor system upgrades and implementation.
- Project manage exchange relationships and mandatory upgrades.
- Oversee technical client on-boarding.
- Complete exchange reporting and compliance audits.
Skills and Experience:
- Solid background in Windows, Linux/Unix OS, including SQL and Oracle database architecture.
- Experience in financial services, particularly with Equities, Bonds, Interest Rate Swaps, Fixed Income products, and markets.
- PowerShell, Python and Splunk.
- Experience in Energy or Commodities is a must.
- Ability to work in a team with changing expectations.
- Proactive in issue resolution and process improvement.
- Familiarity with ITIL and change management processes.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong relationships with Application Development teams and business sponsors.
- General knowledge of trading/clearing/operational processes in settlement of futures and OTC Energy trades.
- Experience in a regulated environment and knowledge of associated risk and compliance requirements (desirable).
