Description:
An established Asset Manager is seeking a proactive Application Support Specialist to join their Front Office technology function. This role involves hands-on support of business-critical trading and investment systems, ensuring availability and reliability while collaborating closely with portfolio managers, traders, and tech teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide front-line support for core trading and investment platforms.
Investigate and resolve real-time application issues to minimise disruption.
Write and maintain Python scripts for automation and support tooling.
Manage and query databases using SQL; maintain awareness of data flows and schemas.
Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and front office teams to ensure robust system performance.
Participate in platform upgrades, deployments, and change management processes.
Ensure best practices in monitoring, incident management, and operational support.
Requirements / About You:
Strong Python scripting skills (essential).
Solid SQL knowledge for data investigation and reporting.
Familiarity with AWS cloud-based environments.
Deep understanding of the full trade lifecycle and investment operations.
Background supporting mission-critical systems across Windows and Linux.
Knowledge of market data platforms, messaging protocols (e.g., FIX), or API integrations is a plus.
Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
Experience working within ITIL frameworks and regulated environments.
Offer / Benefits:
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum.
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office).
