Description:

Amey is seeking a skilled Arborist to join their team in Sheffield, working from the Olive Grove Depot and across the region. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in arboriculture who are passionate about maintaining, protecting, and enhancing the natural environment through high-quality tree care.

As an Arborist, you will be responsible for identifying hazards caused by trees, carrying out aerial tree work, stump removal, and tree planting. You will operate chainsaws, light plant, power tools, and vehicles as required, ensuring all work meets safety and environmental standards. This role also involves completing necessary documentation, liaising with stakeholders including the public, clients, subcontractors, and emergency services, and conducting daily vehicle and equipment checks. While not mandatory, you will also have the option to participate in a 24/7 emergency standby system, which comes with additional pay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hazard identification and implement safe tree management practices.

  • Perform aerial tree work, including climbing and rescue operations.

  • Carry out tree felling, stump removal, and planting of extra-heavy standards.

  • Operate vehicles, machinery, chainsaws, and other power tools safely.

  • Maintain accurate records, complete paperwork, and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Undertake daily safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

  • Support other arboriculture and site-related duties as required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in arboriculture.

  • Lantra or NPTC qualification in chainsaw use.

  • Lantra or NPTC qualification in tree climbing and aerial rescue.

  • Strong understanding of HSAWA (Health and Safety at Work Act) and risk assessment procedures.
