We have an opportunity for you to join our Technology Strategy and Architecture team as an Architect, where you’ll engage with stakeholders across Severn Trent to understand their Technology needs and then work to define solutions, ensuring that the IT architecture is developed in line with the strategic direction of the business.
You’ll work to understand the concepts of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in solution architecture. You’ll provide the necessary leadership, analysis, and related design tasks to support the development of technology solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards.
Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you’ll ensure that the solutions deployed into the Severn Trent estate are deliverable in a manner that is coherent with appropriate considerations for its cost, usability, capability, availability, security, operability, and quality. We’ll also expect you to balance immediate projects and business demands with longer term technical considerations, to help achieve the most appropriate outcome for the business.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
To succeed in this role, it’s expected that you’ll have previous experience operating as an Architect with demonstrable expertise of a subject domain such as Technical, Infrastructure, Data Modeller, Security, Integration, Network, Functional, or Software Development.
You’ll also be experienced in working in various delivery methodologies, including an Agile/SAFe environment.
Using your specialist skills and knowledge, you should be competent at defining and delivering integrated solutions that contribute to the development and implementation of IT plans, in line with the overall strategy of IT and the business. You should also be comfortable to act as Lead Architect on major integration activities.
What’s also critical is that you possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to provide robust stakeholder management expectations for immediate peers and related connections.
