This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a world leader in machine tools, laser technology, and electronics, driving forward new technologies and fostering long-term customer partnerships.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales, building strong client relationships, and developing business opportunities in line with company strategy. You will represent TRUMPF as a front-line ambassador, delivering cutting-edge solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction across your territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation
Evaluate customer needs, establish equipment specifications, and prepare tailored quotations.
Present and clearly articulate the benefits of TRUMPF’s technologies to meet customer requirements.
Arrange and attend product demonstrations and application tests in the UK and overseas.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers under the Customer Care Concept, ensuring repeat business.
Proactively qualify and follow up on leads provided by the Lead Manager.
Prospect and approach potential new clients to expand the customer base.
Data Quality & CRM Management
Maintain the CRM system with accurate and timely updates on customer accounts, activities, and opportunities.
Ensure all pricing and specifications are accurate and aligned with TRUMPF standards.
Track competitor installations, market trends, and opportunities.
Sustainability & Strategy
Prioritise activities in line with TRUMPF’s country strategy and long-term business plans.
Provide valuable market intelligence, including competitor activity and pricing.
Complete annual customer classifications and reviews to support targeted sales efforts.
Deliverables
Achieve sales order targets and maintain required customer visit rates.
Ensure all leads are followed up promptly, with full documentation in CRM.
Consistently generate new opportunities that align with TRUMPF’s lead management standards.

Working Hours / Mobility:

Qualifications & Requirements:
Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and via phone/email, with the ability to interact at all levels.
Solid computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Engineering background highly beneficial; experience with laser systems preferred.
Valid UK driving license and passport essential.
Flexibility and mobility to support regular travel across the UK and abroad.
