Assistant Accountant

As a member of the Financial Management Team, which is part of a well-established and hardworking Finance team with an excellent reputation within the Trust; you will support the Senior Management Accountant in the provision of comprehensive high-quality financial support across the Trust to the Group Management teams, individual budget holders and other relevant colleagues both internal and external to the Trust.

If you do not have a level 3 business administrator qualification/award, there will be an opportunity to obtain this through our staff development apprenticeship programme on commencing your role.

Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual for the post of an accountancy assistant.

Working within the Financial Management Team, you will assist in the provision of management accounting information and financial advice to a number of Service Areas within the Trust.

The ideal applicant will possess a good standard of general education and as a minimum have GCSEs grade A to C in Math’s and English. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and computerized financial systems will be necessary. In addition, the ability to work to strict deadlines and provide clear and concise financial information and advice to non-financial managers is essential.

Experience in NHS finance function is desirable.

This position is well suited to someone keen to develop their management accounting skills within an NHS environment
