Description:
A leading hospitality group that operates an exceptional private members club and restaurant in the heart of London is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on site.
This role will be predominantly responsible for all the transactional finance, including AP, AR, and bookkeeping, as well as assisting with some month-end duties, and will report directly to the Group Finance Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, purchase ledger, and sales ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly payroll journals, accruals, prepayments, stock adjustments, and other month-end journals for review by the Finance Manager and Finance Director.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including depreciation postings.
- Manage supplier invoices through Xero and Dext, ensuring accurate coding, timely posting, and regular statement reconciliations.
- Oversee weekly cashflow preparation, payment runs, and trade reports in collaboration with operational teams.
- Process and reconcile pre-paid debit card accounts, event deposits, house accounts, cash deposits, and refunds.
- Act as a key finance contact for senior operational managers, supporting with supplier setups, audits, and ad hoc queries.
- Provide financial and analytical support across the group, including assistance with management accounts and ad hoc project work.
The successful candidate:
- Currently studying for AAT or ACCA/CIMA
- At least 2 years of experience working in a finance department.
- Previous experience working in a multi-site business is desirable.
- Must have excellent Excel skills.
- Must have Hospitality experience.
