St Austell Brewery is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Hope & Anchor pub in Hope Cove, South Devon—a vibrant coastal destination known for its golden beaches and stunning seascapes. This role involves supporting the General Manager in leading a passionate team, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Assistant Manager will step in during the General Manager’s absence, motivate staff, oversee customer experiences, and ensure food and beverage quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the team in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring smooth operations

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a warm, welcoming environment

• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to maintain high standards

• Support both Front and Back of House teams during peak periods

• Oversee food quality and collaborate closely with the Kitchen Team

• Maintain administrative duties, cash management, and compliance with health and safety regulations

• Inspire, support, and develop team members

• Take ownership of personal development with an aim to progress to General Manager

Candidate Qualities:

• Proven experience in a hospitality management role

• Strong leadership and team motivation skills

• Attention to detail in operational, administrative, and customer service tasks

• Passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations

• Ambition to progress to General Manager
