Description:
Price Bailey, an independently owned firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, is seeking an Audit & Assurance Assistant Manager to join their London-based team. This role provides exposure to a wide range of clients, including charities, financial services, SMEs, and large listed groups. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee audits, and develop junior staff while contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage own portfolio of clients, approximately 70% audit work and 30% accounts preparation, with a total fee income of c.£300K
Review completed audit files and present to partner for final review
Supervise and develop junior staff
Oversee portfolio WIP, billing, and debtor control
Assist senior managers in planning, controlling, and reviewing larger, complex assignments
Develop commercial awareness through fee development and cross-selling activities
Requirements:
Professional accounting qualification – ACA, ICAS, CA, or ACCA
Experience in external audit engagements within a UK accountancy practice
Knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102 and IFRS
Client-facing experience
Proficiency with audit software (Caseware) and Microsoft Office packages
Ability to project manage multiple engagements and delegate effectively
Commercially focused with the ability to identify new business opportunities
