Description:
SCI Ventures, the first venture fund dedicated to catalyzing new cures for paralysis, is seeking a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous Venture Capital Associate to join its early-stage investment team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and venture capital, supporting groundbreaking innovations that address spinal cord injury (SCI) and broader neurological conditions such as Stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, and MS.
As one of the first team members in this newly formed VC, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and supporting investments in breakthrough neuroscience and therapeutics companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute diligence workstreams across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains.
- Analyze and synthesize insights from scientific and business perspectives to present to the Investment Committee.
- Support deal structuring, negotiation, and portfolio management.
- Engage in industry events, conferences, and networking to identify emerging opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and venture partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD) in Neuroscience, Bioengineering, Pharmacology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Experience in biotech/pharma strategy, due diligence, or investment advisory.
- Passion for venture capital, entrepreneurship, and breakthrough medical innovation.
- Prior experience working with startups or early-stage companies is highly valued.
