As a Higher Scientist / Engineer within our world-renowned Time & Frequency Department, you’ll enjoy laying the foundations to expand our atomic clock technology into space and into demanding terrestrial applications. You’ll work as a team to plan and deliver a wide range of technical activities and advance our research to the next level. You’ll develop next-generation atomic clock technology that can provide transformative capability in position, navigation and timing applications.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working with autonomy to develop solutions to scientific and engineering problems.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team to develop atomic clock technology.
  • Sharing your learnings so that we all benefit and mentoring those with less experience than you
  • Developing partnerships to strengthen our capability
  • Acting as an ambassador for our work externally and being willing to promote what we do
  • Providing technical support for any bids we may be undertaking

  • You have 3+ years of experience working in experimental Science or Engineering, or a PhD.
  • You can apply your expertise to novel problems
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate with colleagues within your multi-disciplinary team
  • You understand the value of providing good customer service to both internal and external customers, exceeding customer expectations by delivering high quality work with proactive communications
