Bids Manager

Description:

DAC Beachcroft is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Bids Manager to manage bids activity across designated sectors, playing a critical role in achieving growth plans. This role involves overseeing the bids pipeline, formulating win strategies, producing bid documents, and coaching presentation teams to enhance bid success rates. The Bids Manager will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the bids process.

Key Responsibilities:

📌 Bid Strategy & Management

• Evaluate and challenge tender invitations to assess and anticipate client needs.
• Provide guidance on scoring criteria and ensure all required information is obtained.
• Formulate effective win strategies and commercial approaches.
• Organize and lead bid strategy meetings with enthusiasm and authority.
• Work closely with lawyers, finance teams, and sector specialists to develop compelling proposals.

📄 Bid Development & Execution

• Produce comprehensive first-draft bid documents that align with scoring criteria.
• Ensure high-quality, compelling, and well-structured bid submissions.
• Guide and coach bid teams on presentation skills and pitch delivery.

📊 Process Improvement & Compliance

• Work with Brand & Content Teams to maintain up-to-date bid materials.
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s bid processes and risk management protocols.
• Collaborate with Sector Teams and Client Engagement Teams to maximize bid success.
• Conduct client debriefs to gain feedback and improve future bid strategies.

Candidate Requirements:

✅ Extensive experience in bid management or equivalent sales processes within professional services.
✅ Strong strategic and commercial awareness with industry and competitor knowledge.
✅ Proven ability to influence, challenge, and coach senior stakeholders.
✅ Expertise in sales theory, best practices, and full bid lifecycle management.
✅ Strong project management skills, able to handle complex bid processes.
✅ Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with adaptability for different audiences.
✅ Experience in pitch coaching and effective presentation techniques.
✅ Degree educated or equivalent experience.
✅ Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyze financial models and spreadsheets.
