The Post:
As part of a team the successful candidate will participate in a rotating roster to support the collection and delivery of blood and blood products across sites in Scotland. The majority of work is pre planned and deliveries are on set routes however there is an element of ad hoc requests, which managed by the Transport Co-ordinator, who serves as the line manager for this role. These services must be delivered to a high standard and will involve travel throughout Scotland. A range of vehicles will be required to be driven covering cars, coaches and articulated vehicles. The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be required to hold valid licenses for class B & C as a minimum (Car and Rigid HGV). D license (Coach) would also be desirable but not essential. Candidates must also be in possession of a current Drivers CPC.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
The post will be based at the SNBTS West Transport Hub in Possil, Glasgow.
The work pattern for this post will be any 5 from 7 days, 37 hours per week.
Weekend, night shift working and participation in an out of hours on-call system will be required.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
