ParaPride is a charity focused on supporting LGBTQ+ and disabled communities through education, awareness, events, and research. The organization has shifted towards digital engagement, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting visibility and understanding of intersectional challenges.

The role of Fundraising Trustee involves working with the Board to shape and deliver fundraising strategies to ensure financial sustainability. Responsibilities include developing income generation activities such as grant applications, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement. The Trustee will establish a fundraising committee, advise on best practices and compliance, set financial targets, represent ParaPride at events, and ensure alignment with the charity’s mission and policies.

Trustees are expected to commit to regular attendance at board meetings, contribute actively, meet agreed deadlines, and promote ParaPride’s values of equality, diversity, safeguarding, and good governance.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• Proven fundraising and business development experience

• Strong network within fundraising sectors

• Strategic thinking and governance understanding

• Commitment to ParaPride’s mission and core principles such as integrity and accountability

Time Commitment:

• Standard term of 3 years, with possible re-election for a second term

• Regular attendance and active participation in board meetings and tasks

• Responsiveness to information requests within two weeks

• Expectation to give notice when stepping down and support transition
