Bridge Engineer

Description:

Current projects include a major UK 5 year rail network infrastructure framework assessment contract. In addition to the significant long term commissions on bridge assessment and inspection, principally in the rail environment, our initial assessment often leads to the requirement for the design of the refurbishment, strengthening or replacement. We are also at present undertaking the design of of the refurbishments schemes; Manchester Street Viaduct and Yew Tree Footbridge in Knowsley. In addition we are working on a number of prestigious feasibility studies for several footbridges. We have recently won few commissions with St. Helens BC and Warrington BC involving structural design works and undertaking principal bridge inspections and general inspections. More recently we have taken over the asset management of Knowsley MBC under a framework agreement which is generating a healthy sustained workload.

As a Bridge Engineer you will have the following daily responsibilities:

  • Undertake rail and road bridges and associated structural engineering schemes from inspection and assessment, feasibility through to detailed design.
  • Assist with supervision of Graduate Engineers and Technicians as appropriate.
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation through to client sign off of Technical Approval documentation.
  • Hands on technical design on road and/or rail structures.
