As the Underwriting Business Analyst Lead – Large Corp & Specialty, you will play a critical role in driving strategic decision-making across Allianz’s regional underwriting portfolio. You will provide data-driven insights, manage key performance indicators (KPIs), support steering and budgeting processes, and ensure effective monitoring of underwriting performance, profitability, and exposure. This position directly supports the Director UK and Practice Leaders, offering significant visibility and influence across the organization’s international operations.

The role combines strategic portfolio analysis with practical implementation, enabling Allianz to optimize underwriting performance, manage risk effectively, and identify opportunities for growth across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze the regional underwriting portfolio to support strategic decision-making for Line of Business (LoB) Heads.

• Prepare and maintain detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Conduct claims analysis to identify performance trends and areas for improvement.

• Coordinate the regional LoB reporting framework, ensuring data quality, consistency, and timely KPI reporting.

• Collaborate with Global Performance Steering (GPS) teams to review P&L statements and validate underlying assumptions.

• Support the Director UK and practice group leaders in developing growth strategies and identifying market opportunities.

• Contribute to expense management and cost analysis initiatives.

• Support the Allianz Steering Cycle, including planning, portfolio reviews, and governance processes.

• Participate in capacity and capital steering, including natural catastrophe (CAT) modelling and monitoring.

• Engage in strategic regional and global projects, providing analytical and coordination support as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in international underwriting (P&C), reinsurance, or financial/actuarial analysis.

• Strong understanding of underwriting portfolios, risk exposure analysis, and investment allocation.

• Skilled in identifying growth drivers, assessing financial performance, and supporting strategic initiatives.

• Experience in managing complex data sets and ensuring accuracy in reporting frameworks.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and intercultural collaboration skills.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed, and international environment.

• Agile mindset, proactive problem-solving abilities, and openness to exploring AI-driven solutions.

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
