Description:
Working for the Head of Assurance and Business Services, the Business Assurance Manager is a key role within the team, responsible for development of the Assurance Framework in a consistent and pragmatic fashion, and in alignment with recognised best practice standards and relevant regulations affecting all sectors within SSE Enterprise.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver a programme of Assurance audits that are responsive to emergent risks/issues.
- Facilitate all external audits necessary to support the obtainment/maintenance of business-critical accreditations (e.g. ISO 14001 / 9001 / 45001).
- Work closely Group Audit / Group Compliance and Auditees to ensure audits are well prepared for / followed up on; and support the business in completing all actions in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the annual Letter of Assurance process to demonstrate to SSE’s CEO and the Group EXCO, that Enterprise’s system of internal control is robust and effective.
- Ensure business-wide resilience to potential crises, with business continuity plans in place for all business-critical assets, people and processes complemented by regular scenario-based testing, with lessons learned identified and tracked to closure.
- Support the Enterprise business with ad hoc process development activity, to ensure that processes are well documented, rolled out effectively, and compliant with all relevant rules and regulations.
- Ensure all Rule Change Notices (RCNs) are impact assessed, with necessary amendments made to processes / ways of working.
- Manage the Document Library within DE.
