Women in Data®, in partnership with Thatcham Research, is seeking a skilled Business Data Analyst to join the Enterprise Data Team. This role is ideal for a passionate data professional who thrives on converting complex business requirements into data-driven insights and actionable solutions.
Working in a hybrid capacity from Thatcham, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality data solutions, improving analytical capabilities, and embedding best practices across the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand analytical needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Conduct technical analysis of data sets to assess structure, quality, and usability, informing the delivery of effective data solutions.
Develop, test, and refine complex data models and analytical frameworks to solve business problems.
Translate technical results into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain thorough documentation including technical specifications, analysis reports, and process documentation using standardized methodologies.
Liaise with the wider Enterprise Data team to provide technical understanding, business context, and data requirements for product delivery.
Support data governance, ensuring high standards of data quality, consistency, and compliance with internal policies.
Promote best practices in data management, data analysis, and automation across the organization.
Strong background in data analysis and data solution delivery, with experience in prototyping, project documentation, and providing analytical recommendations.
Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for data-related issues, structures, and processes.
Proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar analytical programming languages).
Ability to handle and model large, complex datasets to extract insights and answer key business questions.
Experience in requirements gathering, translating business needs into technical and functional deliverables.
Expertise in process mapping and understanding data structures that support business processes.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
Prior experience in a Data and Analytics team environment.
Familiarity with Data Modelling (3NF, Data Vault) and Database Design.
Understanding of Data Governance, data quality frameworks, and data management principles.
Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and analytics platforms.
Salary: Circa £48,000 (negotiable based on skills and experience).
Pension: 10% non-contributory pension.
Leave: 29 days annual leave (inclusive of Christmas shutdown) plus public holidays.
