Our client is a successful privately owned British multi-national manufacturing Group. The business is headquartered in the UK and manufactures from sites in the UK, North America, Mexico, China and Malaysia.
The Job:
Reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Director, the main function of this role will be the delivery of an effective commercial strategy that leverages market research, product development and market synergy to achieve ambitious commercial objectives within the Company’s existing and potential market sectors.
- Take responsibility for creating, guiding and directing business development strategy, alignment to business, and acting as a key member of the commercial leadership team.
- Identify, articulate and execute new commercial opportunities and business propositions and presenting detailed business cases for consideration.
- Develop and provide data on markets, customers and competitor activity.
- Develop an understanding of markets, core technologies and applications - identifying opportunities within potential and strategic markets, whilst developing business within the current customer base, and managing and reporting on current business activity.
- Develop collaborative customer relationships to understand the potential for growth and identify commercial opportunities that would, with agile R&D development, make a positive impact on sales performance.
- Maintain effective external customer relationships with key accounts, potential new clients and with strategic partners. Working closely with customers to agree product specifications with consistent manufacturing capability.
- Creation of effective sales plans for the current year and a 3 year strategic sales evolution.
The Person:
- A technical sales professional, your practical experience need not necessarily be sector specific, but a solid exposure to technically oriented business development in automotive or other types of filtration, polyurethane derived products, technical textiles or manufactured sub assemblies and components would be of especial interest.
- Highly developed partnership, engagement and development skills. A capable and confident presenter with exceptional communication and networking skills, you will possess strong commercial acumen and be able to make a positive impact on multi-level external customer relationships.
- You should be able to demonstrate a proven ability to understand, sell and market technical products together with the skill to analyse and interpret market information and to transition this into strategies that positively align with the Company’s broader commercial objectives.
