Business Development Manager

 

Description:

The BDM will deliver and drive the sales strategy as our brand ambassador within these sectors to achieve mutually agreed sales targets, whilst achieving profits and margins in line with company objectives. The role is field based with a requirement to regularly visit our Head Office in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the sales strategy for the education, commercial, retail and leisure sectors building a lead generation plan, meeting but ideally exceeding monthly and annual targets.
  • Review the sales strategy in line with sales data, industry trends and market conditions. Making suitable recommendations to improve the strategy
  • Identifying and engaging with key senior decision makers in these sectors to start the sales process. Contacting them to discuss the features and benefits of Smartpods products and how we can fulfil their space solution challenges
  • Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects within these sectors
  • Managing the response to convert inbound sales enquiries
  • Collating and presenting a monthly sales performance vs annual sales target report
  • Capturing of accurate and complete information in our Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
  • Coordinating with our operations team on sales forecasting and ensuring the delivery commitment to customers is met.
  • As required, and in conjunction with our operations team attend site meetings to identify the most appropriate Smartpod solution
  • Identify and attend relevant trade shows within these sectors
  • Work in conjunction with our Project co-ordinator to develop an ongoing social media campaign, creating innovative campaigns to drive engagement, awareness and sales conversion of our Smartpods
  • Build on the marketing collateral developed for these sectors
  • Quarterly sales review with senior stakeholders to discuss progress and challenges within these sectors

 

Key skills

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Proven “sales hunter” and team player with a good sense of humour
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication skills and telephone personality
  • Highly proficient level computer skills including Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and an expert in CRM software solutions
  • Prominent organisation, presentation skills with excellent time management skills
  • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
  • Industry and product knowledge would be a benefit
