As the Business Development Manager, you will need to harness your sales expertise by specializing in the vibrant realm of telcos, service providers and Altnets. Your mission: propel revenue, expand market share, and forge strong strategic alliances. This role calls for a solid grasp of fibre optic technologies coupled with an exceptional ability to engage within diverse organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Targets:

  • Create and execute on a sound sales strategy that drives revenue growth.
  • Champion the attainment of sales targets and objectives with unwavering determination.
  • Pioneer the exploration of untapped markets, novel opportunities, and prospective clientele.
  • Develop a thriving sales pipeline, tenaciously nurturing leads to maturity.

 

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct systematic market research, spot trends, know your competitors, and understand customer needs.
  • Dissect market data and customer feedback to illuminate avenues for product enhancement.
  • Stay at the forefront of fibre optic technology advancements and burgeoning applications.

Business Development and Relationship Management:

  • Establish and build pivotal partnerships with applicable industry leaders.
  • Take centre stage at industry conferences, trade exhibitions, and networking events - transforming these events into lead-generating platforms that showcase our product and services.
  • Establish solid relationships with internal teams to ensure alignment with business strategy and product positioning.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Establish and sustain robust relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer requirements in order to adapt and refine our products and services.
  • Offer outstanding customer service and support throughout the sales journey and beyond.

Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Present regular sales reports including insight, market tendencies, and competitor scrutiny.
  • Monitor sales performance, spotlight growth opportunities, and orchestrate corrective manoeuvres.
  • Be a trusted advisor for management, providing insights on market dynamics, customer requirements, and sales strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field. Technical grounding in fibre optics is a plus.
  • Showmanship as a Business Development Manager or in a commensurate sales role, ideally within the fibre optic domain.
  • Fluency in fibre optic technologies, products, and services.
  • Outstanding understanding of sales principles and techniques, spotlighted by a history of meeting or outpacing previous sales benchmarks.
  • Self-propelled and result-focused, able to operate individually or as part of a team.
