Alcedo Selection Limited is currently hiring a Business Development Manager to join one of the UK’s most established distributors of sheet plastic materials and roll media products. Operating from 15 national locations, the company serves a diverse client base across sectors such as Sign and Display, Industrial, Construction/Architectural, and Engineering.

This is a remote-based role with a focus on Yorkshire and surrounding areas, seeking a motivated individual who can manage approximately 60 established client accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities and sales channels. The position is pivotal in helping expand market reach, drive sales growth, and maintain strong client relationships.

As a market-leading distributor, the company collaborates with top-tier brands and delivers tailored services to meet clients’ operational needs efficiently. The ideal candidate will play a key role in furthering the company's mission by contributing strategically to business development and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically manage and grow both existing and new customer accounts within the assigned territory.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager and internal sales team to identify key accounts and align strategies for growth.

  • Deliver on sales and profitability goals by maximizing the potential of the full product portfolio.

  • Maintain a consistent monthly customer call schedule with defined goals and objectives.

  • Generate and submit detailed business intelligence reports on customer visits, competitor activities, and market feedback.

  • Utilize internal software systems to manage quotes, follow-ups, and customer information efficiently.

  • Cultivate deep relationships with clients to secure loyalty, improve service responsiveness, and obtain early access to new orders.

  • Proactively identify market trends and recommend new product lines in coordination with sales and inventory teams.

  • Monitor market competition and contribute to strategy development based on changing trends.

  • Operate within established credit control policies in collaboration with the credit team.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrable success in B2B sales with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales and GP targets.

  • Solid experience managing a regional territory and building long-term client relationships.

  • Understanding of sheet plastic materials or sign & display industries is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft AX Dynamics is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
