You will join the team working in application support, providing business support for all investment applications. The key applications that our clients use are Charles River and an in house middle/back office system. Ideal candidates will have strong experience working in investment management firms in similar roles and have prior experience using the following applications: Charles River/other OMS; and similar back office systems such as Simcorp/Invest one or Eagle Pace.

Main duties

  • You will be providing first line support for our clients investment management applications, primarily Charles River (CR) systems and the SIC.NET (internal CRM/portfolio management) but also any other system the department may be required to support from time to time such as the online client valuation system.
  • Supporting the entire business including Client Affairs (CRM’s), Operations (Settlements, Valuations, Corporate Actions, Pooled Accounting, and Reconciliations), Finance, Asset Management, Client Admin, Marketing, etc.
  • Trouble shooting and analysis of daily scheduled job related problems on SIC.net and CR (Start of day/ Intraday, Cash feeds, Bloomberg, Rimes feeds etc.) as part of a rotating early shift.
  • You will be responsible for initial investigation and prioritisation of each support request and establishing whether developer assistance is required as well as providing or helping to provide workaround solutions to support issues where possible while full solutions are developed.
  • You will be following up on logged support requests and ensure that clear and continuous communication on issue resolution is provided back to the business.
  • Ensuring proper logging of support requests to the defect management database and accurate notation of resolution of issues and progress.
  • To ensure issues are escalated appropriately where required.
  • Fully participating in the agile development process by preparing for and actively taking part in regular backlog grooming meetings with the development team.
  • Liaise with the IT Development team on outstanding priority support issues.
  • Key focus on knowledge transfer within the support team and to the business users by creating documentation and training material on an ongoing basis.
  • Create and maintain user groups, privileges, profiles and system administration of the applications (Admin activities).
  • You will be managing new static data set up requests (reference data) on CR and SIC.net, maintaining data integrity within applications (data message log, reconciliation and missing order checks on CR).
  • You will be providing end-user training (existing and new starters). Need to promote productivity enhancing features on the applications.
  • To assist, as required, with user acceptance and regression testing, writing and maintaining test scripts and organising user’s attendance for testing.

Required job skills

  • Experience as an Application/Business support analyst on major front/back office systems in the Asset management industry.
  • Exposure to Front office environment and dealing with Fund Managers and Dealers will be preferred.
  • Good understanding of Investment management workflows and user acceptance testing experience is desirable.
  • The ability to understand system and business workflows and deal with day-to-day queries from the Business users.
  • Exposure on different Investment products (Fixed Income, Derivatives, Money markets etc.) will be desirable.
