Description:

The role will be based in one of OCDAs operational units, either Manchester or Birmingham. Travel may also be required to attend other partner sites across the UK, which includes London.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

The jobholder will be responsible for:

  • Main point of contact for finance queries, providing advice and guidance to others including on appropriate commercial practices
  • Controlling and managing budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance with governance, financial and procurement procedures, and policies in accordance with Cabinet Office, Home Office, and Treasury guidelines
  • Supporting senior management decision making through the provision of briefings and the compilation of written reports with appropriate recommendations
  • Managing procedures for purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring they are processed efficiently and accurately
  • Building financial and commercial awareness of non-finance staff within the business
  • Supporting wider business areas to deliver key pieces of work by setting direction and ensuring targets / deadline are met
  • Line management responsibility for at least 1 HEO, with expectation of increased line management responsibility

Who are we looking for?

Candidates must have experience of working in a finance related role. They will display sound judgement and have the interpretive ability to resolve complex issues, working collaboratively with others to identify and provide solutions. This may involve research and analysis in determining the best solution from a range of options.
