Engineering Services is a function within Route Services. We sit as a central team to provide national skills and activities which enable regions and industry partners to deliver the railway for our customers.
As a large central functional team which focus on engineering delivery, we have many roles from pure engineering to project management and touch every part of the railway from track, power, signalling to the lifts and escalators which are essential to keep our stations moving.
Main Responsibilities
Finance
- Being the SME for all of the supplier activities for Finance. Manage supply contracts to achieve the most cost effective and industry standard compliant delivery. Apply specialist knowledge in a particular in managing supplier finance through the application of payment process, understanding the details for working being applied for, tracking payment and any potential reasons for rejection.
- Ensuring the end to end application is being managed including timeframes, analysis of outputs, invoicing are being processed with 48hrs and PO are being raised and tracked within 24hr of being requested, overseeing multiple of team inboxes, for lifts and escalator’s including process, procedures and continuous improvement around this business area.
- Understanding the root cause of spend, identify patterns and putting together outputs to share with stakeholder, allowing them to make informed decisions around there workforce planning.
- Implementing finance audits undertaking deep dives or dip checks to ensure evidence is in line with the contractual agreements
- Working very closely with the compliance BSS to build tangible links between finance and compliance
