Buyer Duties:

• Liaise with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager regarding purchasing for ongoing projects

• Negotiate with suppliers ensuring best possible costs

• Deciding what goods, services and equipment are needed and predicting stock levels

• Researching and identifying new products and suppliers

• Maintaining supplier database

• Reviewing invoices with Accounts department

• Ensuring suppliers deliver on time

• Raising and recording supplier non-conformance & improvement notices

• Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services

 

Required skills & experience:

• Previous experience within a procurement role

• Strong negotiation experience

• Work autonomously on own initiative and also well as part of a team

• Be able to work to deadlines
