My client is a leading Software company based in Richmond. They have a remote role for a C / C++ developer to work on proprietary Digital solution.

As a Software Engineer you would be required to plan, develop, test, and document custom-engineered programs and systems to meet our clients and business needs. You will be actively involved in either maintaining or enhancing existing software for clients or writing (under guidance) new applications using a variety of technologies. Working within a team you will contribute ideas and options to address technical issues. You need to be prepared to learn new technologies and techniques to improve code writing and application performance with the aim to always meet client's changing business requirements. You must be able to learn by gaining experience in a number of team-related projects in different work areas, as all the required training will be a mixture of in-house, and a self-help basis through referral to a manual or websites. In addition, some of your time will be available to work on wider project work within the Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary role as a Software Engineer is the development and maintenance of the my clients product which will involve development of new software; and the 2nd and 3rd line support of existing software.

Your secondary role is a Customer Care Engineer and is to work as part of the Business As Usual (BAU) Team to provide 3rd line support for my clients customers.

As a Software engineer you will be working with our multi-functional application used by a variety of public and private sector clients. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Analysing software issues

Creating and applying software fixes

Administering clients’ databases

Developing and maintaining administrator tools and utilities

Upgrading clients to the latest releases
