Description:
- Direct line management of technical specialists for security and baggage (12 colleagues)
- Performance management of staff including performance reviews, talent management and succession planning.
- Effective management and control of spend for relevant assets, forecasting spend and carrying out regular reviews of actuals vs allocated targets.
- Manage strategic spares and stock holdings and control spend on parts, uniform and tools.
- Direct specialist teams in continual improvement, trouble shooting and fault resolution.
- Maintain strong relationships with, and high performance of, maintenance contractors.
- Delivery of major maintenance and support to capital projects as required.
- Provide input to new equipment specification and definition of maintenance contract scopes.
- Monitor the condition of assets and inform maintenance plans and schedules and input into investment plans.
- Lead technical and operational integration of new assets working with project and business resilience teams.
- Define training and competency requirements for staff and contractors.
- Act as an Authorised Person for electrical safety for security and baggage assets.
- Ensure Health and Safety measures including LOPs and RAMs are in place and followed.
- Use asset performance data to drive long term improvements.
- Deputise for the Head of Baggage and Security Engineering as and when required.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Professional qualification in Engineering – Minimum HND/HNC
- Working towards Chartered Incorporated Engineer level or relevant experience
- Demonstrable success at applying continuous improvement tools such as Lean, 6 Sigma and Kaizen
- Experience of working within a regulated environment
- Strong commercial and people focus.
- Working knowledge of PAS 55 Asset Management
- Proven ability to control budget spend
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- The ability to stimulate and manage change
- Excellent communication skills including report writing
- Will need to be an Authorised Person (AP) / Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for relevant discipline
