Description:
We are recruiting Support Workers (Carers) and Senior Support Workers (Senior Carers) to deliver high-quality, person-centred support within our supported living services for children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism, and physical disabilities. These roles require professionals who are values-driven, safeguarding-aware, emotionally resilient, and committed to improving life outcomes through trauma-informed, inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities (All Roles)
• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Promote safeguarding and protection, identifying and reporting concerns in line with policy
• Support individuals with emotional regulation, daily living skills, independence, and wellbeing
• Respond effectively to distressed or challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support
• Maintain accurate, timely, and outcome-focused records
• Work collaboratively with families, health professionals, social workers, and other agencies
• Uphold equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice at all times
Additional Responsibilities (Senior Support Worker)
• Lead shifts and act as a role model for safe and high-quality practice
• Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and support to staff
• Take delegated responsibility for safeguarding concerns, incident reporting, and escalation
• Support care planning, risk assessments, audits, and quality assurance
• Contribute to service improvement and inspection readiness (e.g. Care Quality Commission / Ofsted, where applicable)
Person Specification
Essential Criteria (All Roles)
• Experience working with vulnerable CYP and/or adults (paid or voluntary)
• Safeguarding awareness and willingness to complete mandatory training
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals experiencing distress or challenging behaviour
• Emotional resilience and ability to work in high-pressure environments
• Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and inclusive practice
• Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Additional Essential Criteria (Senior Support Worker)
• Minimum 2 years’ direct support experience with vulnerable CYP and/or adults
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and professional accountability
• Experience supporting or leading staff in care settings
• Ability to maintain high-quality recording and reporting standards
