Carpentry Lecturer

A leading college in Birmingham is seeking a Carpentry Lecturer to join their teaching faculty this September. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced carpentry professional or a qualified instructor to inspire and shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

The role involves delivering both theory and practical instruction in Carpentry and Multi-Skilled Construction, aligned with City & Guilds / NVQ / T Level frameworks up to Level 3. You'll be working with a dynamic team, supported by modern facilities and a forward-thinking curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging theoretical and hands-on carpentry lessons to learners up to Level 3

• Teach and assess courses including City & Guilds, NVQ, and T Levels

• Inspire students by linking industry knowledge with education

• Support students' academic and personal development

• Ensure a safe, inclusive and professional workshop and classroom environment

• Collaborate with other lecturers and college staff for curriculum development and learner success

Contract Details:

• 🗓️ Start Date: September 2025

• 💼 Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary Ongoing

• ⏱️ Working Hours: Full-time (standard teaching hours)

• 💰 Pay Rate: £26.43 – £28.67 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Candidate Requirements:

• ✅ Level 3 or higher qualification in Carpentry or a related trade

• ✅ A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or willingness to work towards one

• ✅ Experience teaching up to Level 3 in Carpentry/Construction

• ✅ Assessor/Verifier qualification (A1, V1) or willingness to pursue one

• ✅ Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths
