Description:

Gallagher Re, a leading global reinsurance advisory and broking firm, is seeking a Catastrophe Risk Analyst - Specialty to join its London-based team. This role offers the opportunity to work in the Specialty Catastrophe Analytics division with a focus on Marine & Energy, Terrorism, and other Specialty lines. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in renewal modelling projects for global accounts, develop innovative risk assessment solutions, and contribute to intellectual property and risk view advancements across multiple classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quantify catastrophe risks in client portfolios using both vendor and Gallagher Re models.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of client data and portfolio structures to assess modelling suitability and identify risk gaps.

  • Develop and deploy tailored service offerings through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Engage with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and actuaries on model interpretation, portfolio management, and bespoke analytical projects.

  • Monitor and evaluate updates to catastrophe models and their impact on outputs.

  • Provide real-time reporting and support to clients during natural disasters and post-event scenarios.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a numerate or hazard-related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of catastrophe models and underlying peril sciences.

  • Proficiency in RMS, AIR, or similar tools.

  • Technical skills with programming knowledge (e.g., SQL, VBA, R) preferred.

  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data effectively.
