Description:
Pigment Consulting, a forward-thinking and disruptive change and transformation consultancy, is looking for experienced Category Strategy Specialists to support its defence and public sector transformation programmes across the UK.
In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and implementing category management strategies, ensuring cost efficiencies, and enhancing procurement effectiveness in complex, high-profile government and defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy Development: Design and execute category strategies that drive commercial efficiencies and long-term value.
- Market & Supplier Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, supplier engagement, and contract negotiations to optimize supply chain performance.
- Procurement & Governance: Provide expert guidance on public procurement frameworks, commercial governance, and risk management.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior stakeholders across defence and public sector environments to shape procurement policies and frameworks.
- Capability Building: Support knowledge transfer and capability development, enabling sustainable transformation and efficiencies.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Proven track record in category strategy, procurement, and commercial management within the defence, public sector, or other regulated industries.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of public procurement frameworks, commercial models, and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Influence: Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence decisions at senior levels.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to thrive in high-impact, fast-paced projects.
- Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance and Sole UK National status (due to programme security requirements).
