Chef & Recipe Developer

Great British Chefs is looking for a Chef & Recipe Developer to join its content team and head up the GBC Kitchen. As a recipe developer at Great British Chefs you will be responsible for researching, writing, cooking and styling accessible yet aspirational recipes. You will work closely alongside our Head of Content, Videographers and Recipe Editor to produce recipes for both GBC and its vast range of commercial partners, ensuring they all fit in with the overall content strategy and adhere to briefs.

In addition, you will be required to line manage one member of staff and generally assist the content team with a wide variety of tasks where needed.

In short, we want someone who is very confident in the kitchen, happy cooking on camera, able to style and plate food beautifully and is constantly dreaming up new dish ideas! You might be a content creator looking for a permanent role, an experienced chef after a new challenge or an established food stylist keen to work on more complex recipes.

Requirements

• An unrivalled passion for and wide knowledge of food and cooking, including an interest in a wide range of world cuisines
• Confidence in cooking and plating ability; you should be comfortable undertaking a wide range of cooking techniques and able to make food look beautiful on the plate (both for film and photography)
• Demonstrable experience in creating and cooking recipes, be it on social media, as a professional chef or another recipe platform
• Experience in creating food content for social media, particularly Instagram
• An outgoing, friendly personality and a can-do attitude

Key responsibilities

• Creating and writing recipes for the Great British Chefs website and social media channels under the supervision of our Head of Content
• Cooking and styling the recipes for photo and video shoots
• Liaising with the Recipe Editor to ensure that all recipes are in line with Great British Chefs’ house style and standards
• Working to requests from commercial partners to ensure recipe ideas fit their briefs
• Managing the Junior Recipe Developer/Kitchen Assistant
• Assisting the wider editorial team when required
