Psicon Ltd, a trusted and values-driven healthcare provider, is inviting Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join its Independent Clinician Network based in Canterbury, Kent. This position offers an opportunity for skilled psychiatrists to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people while maintaining flexibility and independence in their work schedule.
As part of Psicon’s multidisciplinary clinical team, you will conduct Autism and ADHD assessments for children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 years, collaborating closely with professionals across disciplines to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. You will be responsible for delivering thorough evaluations, formulating diagnostic conclusions, and providing families with clear, supportive feedback and guidance.
This role provides both professional autonomy and administrative support, allowing clinicians to focus on delivering clinical excellence while Psicon manages scheduling, report formatting, and compliance processes.
Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using evidence-based tools and approaches for children undergoing autism and ADHD assessments.
Carry out ADHD evaluations and structured behavioral observations during clinical sessions.
Assess children and adolescents aged 3–18 years, ensuring all interactions are age-appropriate, sensitive, and compassionate.
Review ADOS reports, developmental histories, and collateral information from parents, schools, and other professionals.
Formulate accurate diagnoses and provide clear, empathetic feedback to families, along with recommendations and signposting to support resources.
Collaborate with Psicon’s multidisciplinary team (MDT) during planned clinics or follow-up sessions to finalize assessments and diagnoses.
Produce high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and Psicon’s report templates (with administrative support for formatting and quality assurance).
Initiate onward referrals where clinically appropriate, following NHS Trust and ICB protocols.
GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice in the UK.
CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred (not essential).
Expertise in conducting Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD assessments for children and young people.
Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal processes.
Must hold appropriate indemnity insurance for self-employed clinical work.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, family-centered approach.

Deliver face-to-face assessments at Psicon’s Canterbury Clinic (CT1 3AS).
Up to four appointments per day, scheduled around your availability.
