Civil Engineer

Description:

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Civil Engineer / Highways Engineer to join its Transport and Mobility Solutions Division. The role involves designing transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators. You will develop concepts, feasibility plans, and detailed designs for planning and construction while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and BIM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver innovative, safe, and efficient highway and transport designs.

• Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD, 3D modeling with Civil3D or OpenRoads, and delivery of models in Navisworks.

• Work in Common Data Environments, develop BIM Execution Plans, and ensure compliance of models.

• Assist in managing projects or project elements within quality, financial, and programme targets.

• Ensure delivery of assigned work with no rework and maintain client satisfaction.

• Collaborate across teams and offices in the UK and overseas.

• Support Health & Safety initiatives, proactively report issues, and delegate tasks when necessary.

Requirements / Skills:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

• Knowledge of highway design standards (DMRB, SHW, Manual for Streets).

• Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and InfoDrainage.

• Confident communication skills, problem-solving, and capability to work independently and to deadlines.

• Willingness to work away from home when required.
