As a Casualty Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of public and employers' liability claims, ensuring each case is thoroughly reviewed, investigated, and progressed from first notification to final settlement. The role also involves collaboration with stakeholders, legal partners, and internal teams to deliver an efficient, high-quality claims service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle public and employers’ liability claims independently up to a value of £25,000

  • Progress cases beyond £25,000 under proper authority

  • Determine liability, detect fraud, and assess quantum in accordance with evidence and policy terms

  • Oversee litigation processes and coordinate with legal counsel

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including clients, brokers, claimants, and suppliers

  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive claims files, ensuring adherence to company policies

  • Deliver excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and concerns promptly

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements

  • Keep up with current insurance legislation, best practices, and regulatory requirements


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of proactive claims management

  • Working knowledge of MOJ Portal Claims

  • Previous experience in handling high-volume or high-value claims

  • Ability to assess liability and detect potential fraudulent activity

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
